My character design proposal for a Kinect PC game called "Tickle Monster" that is the final project of four CSE seniors at my school.
The game aims to help autistic children improve their skills in learning to recognize and interpret facial cues. The monster character that the seniors are currently using in the game is way too scary looking for kids, so they asked a few of us in my animation class to model, texture, rig, and animate some kind of cute, approachable-looking monsters. (providing the team with more than one monster will allow them to expand the game into levels, or even to have a "pick your character" option.)

Updates: The "pick your character" option is being put into the game, (so my character will be used! yay!)
I am working with modeling his expressions to make the blend shapes for him, and then will have to texture him. I want to do fur, but ugh. With all the stuff I have on my plate right now, I don't know if I can handle learning how to texture with fur. X(
Also- the game, which is in the ImagineCup 2012 competition sponsored by Microsoft, has made it into the Semifinals!!

Interesting, I've never heard of that game, but I have heard about kids having trouble recognizing facial features, so it sounds like a neat learning tool.
Your monster design is cute, definitely looks kid friendly to me.
